Beeston out of Europe in last-minute thriller

Results KO16 - Sunday
Club de Campo 3 Atletic Terrassa 1 (1-1 after extra time, decided on penalties)
Beeston 3 HGC 4

Beeston's chances of staying in Europe hinged on a  video appeal with eight seconds on the clock, after a long wait, Andy Mair in the video box ruled for a PC. But with the clock run down, Beeston mistrapped at the top of the circle and their European semi-final chance had slipped away.

But two hard-won goals by Danny Hall (45m and 47m) opened up the game. Iain Mackay then set up Chris Cargo's second strike for Reading to settle the nerves at 4-2, before a deflected goal by Gareth Carr in the 57th minute lined up a tense finish.

HC Bloemendaal 2 UHC Hamburg 1: Wouter Jolie

Wouter Jolie scored HC Bloemendaal's equaliser and set up Nick Meijer in front of the post for the winner. With a full house of screaming home fans, not surprisingly he is happy!

"Maybe we needed a goal against us to play our best hockey for the last 20 minutes. But it was beautiful day for us!"
