If you consider yourself the ultimate hockey tourist, here's one to test out your credentials.

The Sihillians are planning a Hockey Nation tournament in the West Midlands featuring players from all around this hockey nation and representatives from the other Olympic hockey nations too.

The initiative will see a giant hockey ball travel the length of the country, stopping off in 40 towns and cities along the way. At each stop communities will be invited to be part of a record attempt to ‘dribble’ a hockey ball an incredible 2012km. They will even have the chance to send the GB hockey squad good luck wishes ahead of the Summer’s Games by signing the giant ball.

India men and South Africa women qualify for London 2012 hockey tournament

India have qualified their men's hockey side for the London 2012 Olympic tournament with a crushing 8-1 final win over France in the Olympic qualifier in New Delhi.

Sandeep Singh netted five corners for the hosts.

2012 London Cup to be a women's hockey tournament

Great Britain will host the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, South Africa and Ireland in Chiswick from June 5-10 – just seven weeks before the London Olympics.

Tickets are on sale now. Adult tickets vary from £10 to £25 and junior tickets start at £1.

Four of the teams in what will be the Investec London Cup – Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany and Australia – are already assured of their places in the Olympic tournament, guaranteeing some of the world’s best athletes will be on show.

Crunch time on the road to London 2012

This weekend four sides face their final hurdle as they attempt to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic hockey tournament.

On Saturday South Africa play hosts India in the final of the women's New Delhi Olympic qualification tournament with the winners qualifying for the London games. The match will be played at 8pm Delhi time, 2.30pm UK time. 

The road to London is already over for four sides - Canada will play Poland for 5th and 6th, while Italy will play Ukraine for the bronze medal. 

On Sunday India will play France (also at 8pm Delhi time) in the final of the men's qualifier. The Olympic dreams of Canada, Poand (who play for bronze), Italy and Singapore are all over. 

Live coverage (pay-for-view) of the men's final will be available on the FIH video channel.

Another hot afternoon start made conditions tough for both teams and the early play was an even affair.

Seasoned players Rob Hammond, who has come back from injury and Liam de Young were both transferred from the Australia A team earlier in the tournament and were out to prove they belonged in the ultimate team. They both played great hockey.

Rescheduled Men's cup timetable

England Hockey have confirmed etails of the rearranged men's cup quarter finals.  All four quarter finals were postponed as a result of inclement weather conditions on Sunday February 5.

The draw has also been made for the semi finals, which will take place on Sunday March 18.
