Tyskies and tears on day four
A day on from England's 2:3 defeat by the Austrians I can still hardly believe the last few seconds.
A penalty corner and four retakes, and not one found its mark. It was very exciting, but ultimately disappointing and meant England played off for fifth place against Holland today.
But England's harsh loss was my gain as it meant Tom and I were free to go out for dinner last night.
We toddled down to Stary Reynek again intending to eat at Brovaria, a micro brewery where they have mananged to merge beer and cola - wierd but i had to try it.
However it being Friday night and Poznan being such a party town it was rammed.
So we went a couple of doors down to Fenix, a wierd African/US diner.
After a couple of Tyskies and fries(kies) we felt a little less deflated.
A late start for us at the hockey today so we went to the park, or Citadel, and had a lovely, if freezing, walk in the fresh air.
Then back to the stadium to see England and Holland fight for fifth.England lost 4:2 :(
Then we saw Germany absolutely smash the Russians, 10:0!!!
Now waiting for the Poland/Austria game to see who's in the final. Come on you Polskie!!!!
