It ain't half cold Mum

The Estadio Mundial in Rosario has to be the coldest place I have ever watched (or for that matter played) hockey. The temperature is usually around the 10degree mark at this time of year, and then there is the wind. When it is from the south it is blowing straight from the Antarctic and usually carrying the horizontal rain is has picked up along the way. Someone took their hat off for the national anthems yesterday and collapsed from hypothermia (OK that's not actually true - but it could be!) The rain is good though - loads better than the alternative of blowing dust.
You have to feel a bit sorry for the players and more so the fans. At least the press have a warm room to de-frost in and the players get a half-time break. Still it won't stop a huge turnout of las Leonas fans for the Spanish game tonight.
