Men's Four Nations - GB 2 Germany 3
Germany controlled the game for the most part, although a rare mistake from the otherwise impeccable Martin Haner gave the hosts a chance of a late penalty corner equaliser on the buzzer.
The Germans took a 2-1 lead into half time with a late GB goal from Simon Mantell bringing the homeside back in touch, after the Germans had looked comfortably in control with a 28th minute field goal from Oskar Deecke and a penalty stroke from Moritz Furste (31minutes).
The two goal buffer was restored by Tobias Lietz (38) who scored from close after a bustling run from Furste. Ashley Jackson drag-flicked a corner home in the 63rd minute to make the finish interesting. Then with seconds left, Haner tried an aerial from a self-passed right sideline hit. He caught the ball in the crook and produced sent the ball into touch on the opposite side of the field on the 25. From GB's sideline hit, pressure in the circle produced a penalty corner as the clock ran out. After a string of corners, Christoph Menke charged down a Jackson flick and the game was over.
