Oxford retain Varsity hockey titles
Action from the Oxford vs Cambridge men's match (c) Ian WoodOxford retained both Varsity hockey trophies on Tuesday.
The women's match finished 1-1 after Cambridge's Kirsty Elder equalised a Sarah Ffrench Constant goal. The cup could have been heading east however, with Jess Anand shooting high and wide for the underdogs late in the second half, having harried the Oxford defence into a turnover. As holders, Oxford retain the trophy.
The men's match was more one-sided with Oxford running out 5-2 winners. Adam Jordan (2), Alexander Stobbart and Alexander Evans (2) scored for Oxford. Stuart Jackson scored twice for Cambridge (one stroke, one pc).
