Reading to play KHC Dragons in the European quarter finals

Reading have won the battle of the English clubs in the Euro Hockey League with a 5-3 win over East Grinstead in Bloemendaal.

The light blues had a dream start with Richard Mantell burying a corner drag-flick in the third minute. Jonty Clarke finished from close to double the lead in the 21st minute.

But two hard-won goals by Danny Hall (45m and 47m) opened up the game. Iain Mackay then set up Chris Cargo's second strike for Reading to settle the nerves at 4-2, before a deflected goal by Gareth Carr in the 57th minute lined up a tense finish.

Reading's fifth, from Richard Springham with fiveminutes to go, finished of a valliant East Grinstead. Reading go through to Monday's quarter finals where they will play KHC Dragons of Belgium. Dragons defeated a star-studded Rot-Weiss Koln side 3-2, also today.
