English clubs in European hockey action - live video streaming

Beeston and East Grinstead begin their campaigns in the fifth edition of the Euro Hockey League in Germany with games starting on Friday.

The Bees, English champions, get the ball rolling on Friday October 6, 2011, playing KS Pomorzanin Torun (POL) at 11am UK time. East Grinstead play Dinamo Elektrostal (RUS) on Saturday at 8.30am UK time. 

Rob Short wins 5,000 euros as EHL most valuable player

Following yet another stunning individual performance, HGC captain and defender Rob Short was named as the Euro Hockey League's Most Valuable Player, Presented by ABN AMRO. The veteran Canadian international's contribution to his team's success this season cannot be underestimated, and he received a cheque for 5000 Euros from EHL Presenting Sponsor ABN AMRO.

EHL Final Four hosts HGC have won the Alain Danet Trophy thanks to a 1-0 win against Spain's Club de Campo. Timmo Kranstauber sent the sell-out crowd into raptures when he scored a penalty stroke with just ten minutes remaining in an absorbing match. It was enough to give HGC the title four years after losing the final against UHC Hamburg. Earlier in the day, Reading HC took the Bronze medal with a 3-2 triumph over Oranje Zwart.

European Club Champions Cup to be streamed live on Internet

This weekend's European Club Champions Cup final will be streamed live on the internet. That is good news for English viewers with one home club guaranteed to make the final of Europe's top women's club hockey competition.

Den Bosch win Dutch women's title

Den Bosch have won the Dutch Hoofdklasse women's title for the 13th time in their history. They won the second game in the playoff series 2-1 on Saturday, a repeat of the scoreline in last weekend's match.

Amsterdam win Hoofdklasse title

Amsterdam have won the men's Dutch Hoofdklasse for the sixth time in their history ending a run of five straight titles to HC Bloemendaal.

Women's European semis revert to Slough vs Leicester

Vice-president of the European Hockey Federation Marijke Fleuren has said the women's European Club Champions Cup (ECCC) semi finals will revert to the Slough vs Leicester and Den Bosch vs Laren matches that were initially announced..

This was the lineup publicised after the preliminary rounds in Den Bosch at Easter. However the European Hockey Federation subsequently announced a draw had been made pitting each of the two English sides against Dutch semi-final opponents.

European club finals tickets to go on sale Thursday

Reading, Slough and Leicester fans get ready – tickets for the Euro Hockey League final four and the finals and semi-finals of the EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (ECCC) for women will go on sale on Thursday May 12 via www.ehlhockey.tv

Euro Hockey League and women's Champions Cup schedule announced

The full match schedule for the combined Euro Hockey League and EuroHockey Club Champions Cup (women) tournaments has been announced. 

Slough and Leicester will play their women's semi-finals, both against Dutch opponents, on Friday evening June 10. An earlier announcement (April 25) on the European Hockey Federation Facebook page that Slough and Leicester would play each other in the semis was apparently an 'error'.

Reading's men's semi-final vs Club de Campo Madrid, will be on Saturday June 11 at 11.30am European time.
