It never rains but it pours – whatever that means. First goals rained in on the England net, then a torrentialhalf-time downpour delayed the restart by over an hour. As a lone sweeper tried to clear the centre circle, a team of six volunteers showed the clear benefits of a group working together towards a common purpose with six coordinated squeegees dispatching spectacular bow-waves of water off the VIP stand touchline to enthusiastic applause from the sheltering crowd.
