You were a member of the Dutch side who won a silver medal at the World Cup in Utrecht in ‘98. How did it feel to lose that final?
It was a weird feeling as I made the team due to an injury to another player. So I was the 16th player and wasn’t expecting to see much time. I saw close to 30 minutes every game but didn’t play in the final. It felt awkward as we didn’t win.

You have Portugese family. Did you ever consider playing for Portugal?

No, I love playing for Holland at the highest level. Portugal is not so good at hockey. Maybe I’ll do some coaching over there when I’m done with playing hockey myself.

You have also studied law, so which law would you remove?

Speedlimits - that would save me a lot of money and frustration.

Your boyfriend is Canadian hockey player Rob Short. Who’s the best player ?

What kinda question is that? I am off course - come on!

You presented a make-over show in Holland. Here’s a picture of our MD – how would you make him over?

From what can see I would try to give him a good clean, but it would take so much that it would be hard to fit that into the budget of the show! I like his beard and the shirt, but he needs a bit of a tan. Tell him to try some St Tropez.

How much would Playboy have to pay you to get you to do a nude photoshoot?

I’m priceless.

Do you wear make-up to play hockey?

Always, except when I’m really late and I don’t have time to put my mascara on…

What are you predictions for who’ll win the hockey World Cup?

Women: Holland Men: Australia. Both teams are very strong at the moment. And I play for Holland, of course, so I’m confident.
