Another hot afternoon start made conditions tough for both teams and the early play was an even affair.

Seasoned players Rob Hammond, who has come back from injury and Liam de Young were both transferred from the Australia A team earlier in the tournament and were out to prove they belonged in the ultimate team. They both played great hockey.

New Zealand blame poor basics for hockey series loss to Korea

Korea have beaten New Zealand men 4-3 today in the deciding match of their five test series at Lloyd Elsmore Hockey Stadium in Pakuranga, Auckland.

Following two Black Sticks victories last weekend, Korea won the third and fourth tests to leave it all square going into today’s final test of the series.

Black Sticks men’s captain Dean Couzins said his team’s error rate was the difference between the two sides today.

The world number one ranked Kookaburras came back from a goal down to beat Argentina 3-1 in the second hockey match of the Kookaburras Challenge on Friday evening at Perth Hockey Stadium.
