Luke Doerner converted two penalty corners after Glenn Turner had given the home side the early ascendency to leave the Kookaburras as the only undefeated team in the three-nations tournament.

The world number one ranked Kookaburras came back from a goal down to beat Argentina 3-1 in the second hockey match of the Kookaburras Challenge on Friday evening at Perth Hockey Stadium.

Mark Hager to stay with New Zealand Black Sticks hockey after 2012 London Olympics

Black Sticks Women’s coach Mark Hager will remain head coach of the team after the London Olympics having extended his contract with Hockey New Zealand from January 2012 through till the end of 2014.

Hockey New Zealand chief executive Hilary Poole says the knowledge, expertise, leadership and inspiration that Hager brings to the role has been a huge factor to the Black Sticks rise in rankings over the last two years.

Brasa files case with European Commission over World Series Hockey

The Indian Express is reporting that former India hockey coach Jose Brasa and a number of Sapnish players have filed cases with the European Competition Commission to appeal against the threat of suspension issued by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to players keen to play in the cash-rich World Series Hockey.

Strong UK turnout in All American field hockey selections

Becky Dru (Stanford), Megan Frazer (Maryland), Sarah Mansfield (UConn)and Emma Batten (Old Dominion) have all been named in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All American Selection. 

The selection recognises the outstanding players in the top-level of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)  field hockey competition. This year's division I championship was won by Maryland.

Harriet Tibble (Maryland) is in the second-team all American selection.
